Privacy principles

   You choose what Cue receives

   Cue doesn’t scan your Messages, WhatsApp, browser, photo library, or any other app. Something enters Cue only when you share it there yourself. If you never share it, Cue never sees it.

   Local first

   Cue works fully on your iPhone without an account. Saving, reminders, search, folders — all of it lives on your device until you decide to sign in. Reminders are scheduled on your phone, so they fire without an internet connection.

   Photos stay on your device

   Photos and screenshots you share to Cue are stored on your iPhone and are never uploaded — even if you turn on sync. Another device would see the item’s title and reminder with a placeholder instead of the picture.

   Sync is optional

   If you create an account (Apple, Google, or email), Cue stores the information needed to show your library on another device: links, titles, shared text, notes, folder names, reminder times, and completion status. Access is restricted to your account.

   Shared messages

   When you share a screenshot of a Messages conversation, Cue recognizes it on your device and names the item after the sender, like “Message from Sam”. That name is saved like any other title. The screenshot itself, and the recognition details, stay on your phone.

   Link previews come from the source

   To show a title and image for a link, your phone asks the page itself (and, for a few services like Reddit, YouTube, TikTok, and Spotify, their public preview endpoint). Cue doesn’t run your links through a Cue server.

7. 07

   Analytics measure usage, not content

   The app records events such as “save created” or “reminder set” (via PostHog) and crash reports (via Sentry) so we can improve Cue. These never include what you saved: no links, message text, notes, search terms, folder names, photos, or titles. This website uses self-hosted, cookie-free Umami.

8. 08

   No advertising

   There are no advertising trackers in Cue or on this site, and your saved content is never used for advertising.

9. 09

   Deletion is in your hands

   Delete any item from inside Cue. If you have an account, Settings → Delete Account removes your Cue account and the synced data in it, and clears the items on that phone. Deleting your Cue account is separate from cancelling an App Store subscription.

The full Privacy Policy covers providers, retention, and your legal rights. Cue does not claim end-to-end encryption or “zero knowledge”; connections between the app and Cue’s services use HTTPS, and access to synced data is limited to your account.
